Hypnosis
is a powerful tool that will assist you in empowering and transforming
your life. It is often said that we use only 10% of our brain power.
Hypnosis taps into that other 90%.
Your mind
is divided into two parts, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.
The conscious mind is the critical factor. Its job is to sort and analyze
data that comes in all day long. It is the thinking part of youthe
part of you that says, Oh, that makes sense.
The subconscious
mind contains all your wisdom, memories and intelligence. It is the
source of your creativity. It is responsible for regulating all of your
bodys autonomic functions such as breathing, heartbeat and blood
circulation. It houses your emotions and directs nearly all of your
behavior.
The subconscious
mind acts as a clearinghouse of informationlike data stored on
a computer. It is what we want to get in touch with when we are hypnotized.
During hypnosis, the critical factor of the conscious mind is quieted,
allowing communication with the subconscious mind. This paves the way
for new patterns of behavior.
You are
in trance many times a day. It is a perfectly natural state of being.
A trance is that feeling you have while driving somewhere and all of
a sudden realizing that you have no idea how you got there. Or that
feeling when you are watching TV and you are so engrossed that you dont
hear the voices around you.
Trance
is internal focusing. You are not asleep. You are just completely relaxed.
You are not under the hypnotists power. You will not cluck like
a chicken or go and rob a bank. You will only do what is in your personal
comfort zone, moral code or value system. You will not forget everything
that happens in trance. You always have a choice. You will always come
out of trance. Sometimes you may not want to because you feel so incredibly
relaxed. You will not tell any secrets you do not want to tell.
With soothing
music playing in the background, and carefully chosen words your body
and soul will be brought into a very relaxed state, able to let go of
the tensions of the day. This deep relaxation helps to quiet the conscious
mind and free up the subconscious mind to receive information more easily.
People often compare it to that dreamy feeling that precedes falling
asleep.
