Depression

Depression can feel like a beast that has taken over your body, mind and soul. You often feel like a dark cloud is hovering over your head. You are lethargic, unmotivated, tearful, fatigued. You may feel very isolated and alone. Adopting some of the skills below can help.

Help with Depression:

  • Eating nourishing foods.
  • Exercise daily.
  • Keep up with personal hygiene.
  • Have a daily routine.
  • Take deep cleansing breaths throughout the day.
  • Visualize yourself in a beautiful place in nature.
  • Use Emotional Freedom Technique.
  • Spend time in nature whenever you can.
  • Reach out to friends and family.
  • Write down positive things to say to yourself.
  • Express what your needs are.
  • Journal about what is making you sad.
  • Tell yourself that this will pass.
  • Make a list of things you can do, even if they scare you.
  • Notice if you are doing too much for others and step back.
  • Focus on good qualities in yourself and others.
  • Plan to do something everyday that brings you joy.
  • Seek the services of a good therapist.
